Also Audrey updated the club on the grant project. The club has partnered with CPS and we have the names of 37 children. Each child will have about $150.00 to spend at Old Navy on school clothes on Saturday, November 5th from 7am -9am. The store will have a sale going on 50% off everything in the store except clearance. They will have 8-10 employees that will be there to help us shop and checkout. Rotarians will need to arrive at 6:30am to set up tent for check in/out. Children and their guardians will start arriving at 7am. They will be checked in and then there will be a Rotarian assigned to shop with the child to help stay within budget. There will be one or two registers open that will only add up the amount per child spent. Each child will go through this line first. After they added their total they will go through the check-out line. When the child is done with the checkout line they will go back to the tent, check out with Rotary, and receive their goody bag. The Rotary club will pay after every 50 items is scanned.
If you are interested in helping you can be assigned a family to contact, make sure they have transportation, meet at the check in station and shop with the family to make sure they stay in budget. If not you can help with check in/out table, come the day of the event to help families shop or man the doors, or help Victoria with goody bags. A signup sheet is going by if anyone is interested in volunteering.
