THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

THIS WEEK AT ROTARY
Suann Hereford from Literacy Volunteers of America
"Spellabration" - What exactly is it?
Every year our club participates in the LVA Spelling Bee, now known as "Spellabration". Attend the meeting and hear from Suann more about this fun event! Literacy Volunteers of America (LVA) is a national organization founded in 1962 in Syracuse, New York to combat illiteracy. The mission of LVA is to reach adults whose literacy skills are very limited or non-existent and to provide volunteer tutors who can teach reading, writing, and English speaking skills. LVA Provides the professional training, materials, and support that enables volunteers to be effective tutors. Literacy Volunteers of America - Montgomery County (LVA-MC) was established in 1989 to tutor adults in Montgomery County in basic English and to improve the reading and writing skills of those who request it.
