RCLC was excited to award the second Linda Ricketts Literacy Scholarship to another deserving employee of the Montgomery County Library System. The 2015 scholarship winner was Steve Sosa, an employee of The South Regional Library in The Woodlands. Steve was nominated by his boss, Library Manager Catherine Pells. Steve is a Library Assistant, working in the Children's Department.

Ms. Pells describes Steve as "A 'people person' with a can do attitude. He has a great sense of humor and during 'Toddler Time' he intersperses books with his own guitar music along with movement to keep the toddlers engaged."
 

    Steve works full time, in addition to his class load , but still finds time to do library outreach and has composed and produced a music CD with friends. After Hurricane Katrina, the group decided to donate proceeds of the CD to the victims of the storm, a decision that certainly speaks to his character and his choice of friends who also care about the greater good. 
 

     Steve plans to continue working with the Mc Library System once he completes his degree program and hopes to  move into a professional librarian position. Our congratulations to Steve for this well earned honor.
